Pray for Revival Every Friday
Pray for Revival Every Friday
Why Revival?
In today’s society, it seems people have chosen to love sin more than God. They’ve chosen to love the creation rather than the Creator. If the media is correct, then we’ve chosen to hate our neighbors rather than love our neighbors. We (I speak as an American, but this is true for most countries) need a revival. A revival of holiness. A revival of righteousness. A revival of justice. A revival of love. As a nation, we need to learn what it means to fear the Lord. We need to be a people saturated with God once again.
If you want to learn more about what revival is, and how God has moved in the past, please check out our resources in Video, and Books.
Why Pray?
No revival has ever started without prayer. Matthew Henry said, “Whenever God is about to do something truly great, He first sets His people a praying!” Revival often starts when a group of people — sometimes just two or three — make a commitment to plead with God for revival until it comes. This is what #fearGodfriday is all about…getting people to commit to pray for revival until it comes.
We encourage you to watch J. Edwin Orr’s “The Role of Prayer in Spiritual Awakening” on our Video page to learn more.
Why Friday?
Praying for revival should be a daily thing. It should be the urgent call of the Christian’s heart. But we simply want to get people praying. Individually. Two or three. Small groups. Churches. Work places. Schools. Making time once a week is one way to do this. My greatest desire is to see this become a movement of prayer that births true revival. So please make #fearGodfriday a weekly event. Share it on social media. Get your friends praying. Let’s bombard heaven with our prayers.
